Travel Editor Stephen Scourfield will bring together stories from around the world … and with each story will come a dish with cultural significance to the tale.

And the regions and courses? Well, at this stage they are an exciting secret — Chef Costa Simatos is busy researching and making a unique menu, with special dishes reflecting local cuisines.
They will be tied together by an intriguing narrative, which Stephen will perform on the evening. He is also working with Steve Richter who is composing and compiling and will perform music with each story.
It will be an extraordinary evening – and definitely one not to miss.

Jackets of the World by Stephen Scourfield
For years, I have been bringing back fabric, embroideries and tapestries from my journeys — one from each country, and then hand sewing them to a denim jacket. Each piece of fabric has to be relevant to the place, and some have significant stories.
I will have more than 50 of my favourites on display at Old Customs House, Fremantle, on the weekend of September 14 and 15, 2024.
You are all invited to this free Travel event, to come and wonder round the jackets, learn their stories, and meet the team.
We’ll publish more details closer to the date. For now, my house is just filling up with more than 50 jacket stands.
