Hong Kong is luring travellers with a choice of free sightseeing tours and discounted experiences for Cathay Pacific passengers stopping over or spending a few days in the city.
Cathay Pacific passengers staying three nights or more in Hong Kong are eligible for a choice of free sightseeing tours with the Hong Kong Tourism Board's promotion.
One option is a hop-on, hop-off open-top bus sightseeing tour visiting Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula and Stanley Market, plus a Star Ferry ride and the chance to take in views of the city skyline with either a Peak Tram Sky Pass or access to the Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck.
Then there's a morning or afternoon coach tour of Hong Kong Island including a Peak Tram ride to Victoria Peak and visits to Aberdeen Fishing Village, Repulse Bay beach and Stanley Market, plus a one-way ticket on the Airport Express train and a 1GB three-day pre-paid SIM card.
For an insight into the Hong Kong of old, there's an Old Town walking tour plus a trip on the Dukling, a restored red-sailed Chinese fishing junk, or a cultural tour of of Kowloon including visits to Chi Lin Nunnery, Nan Lian Garden, a flower market and a bird garden where songbird owners gather with their pets.
The offer is available for bookings until February 28 and for travel until March 31.
There are also perks for Cathay Pacific passengers in transit in Hong Kong for between six and 24 hours, with a choice of a free same-day return journey on the Airport Express between the airport and Hong Kong Station or one of three discounted experiences.
The latter include a visit to Hong Kong Disneyland, including round-trip shuttle transfers from the airport, which costs $HK385 ($62.30); lunch or afternoon tea at Disneyland's Walt's Cafe with transfers from the airport, which is $HK220 ($35.60); or a ride on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car at Lantau Island with admission to three themed attractions, which costs from $HK135 ($21.85).
This offer is available to book until May 31 for travel to June 30.
What's more, until October 3, Cathay Pacific has a 2018 earlybird sale on flights from Australia to the UK, Europe, the US, Canada and Israel, valid for departures from March 1 to September 6.
From Perth, return sale fares are from $1072 to Amsterdam, from $1119 to Paris, from $1295 to London Heathrow, from $1416 to Los Angeles or New York, and from $1480 to Vancouver.
Premium economy and business-class fares are also on sale.
