Two will become one on July 25, when low-cost airlines Scoot and Tigerair are set to complete their integration and operate all flights under the Scoot brand.
From that date, the carriers will operate under a common licence. Flight schedules will remain the same, but the flight code used for Scoot services will change from TZ to TR, the code currently used by Tigerair.
Scoot's website flyscoot.com will be the sole booking platform for all flights currently operated by Scoot and Tigerair, while Scoot's call centre will provide service to passengers booked on both airlines.
Existing Scoot and Tigerair check-in counters will reflect the single brand, and the Scoot crew will get a refreshed look with a new uniform.
The integrated fleet will consist of Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A320s, with the process of repainting Tigerair's planes in Scoot's yellow livery expected to be finished by mid 2018.
All Scoot and Tigerair passengers with existing flight bookings for July 25 or later can expect to be contacted via email by July 23. These passengers can also manage existing Scoot and Tigerair bookings through Scoot's website.
Scoot and Tigerair were brought under a common holding company, Budget Aviation Holdings, in May 2016. The latest developments (which are subject to final regulatory approval) represent the final step in the integration of the two airlines.
Scoot, the low-cost arm of the Singapore Airlines Group, will move into the long-haul market from July 25 when its new service from Singapore to Athens begins.
