How do you fancy flying from Perth to Europe from $369 one-way? That's now a possibility as low-cost carrier launches its first European route from Singapore.
Singapore-based low-cost airline Scoot has announced it will fly its 787 Dreamliner to its first European destination, flying direct from Singapore to Athens from June 20, 2017.
The new service will be Scoot's first long-haul flight between Asia and Europe, and lays claim to being the longest flight operated by a low-cost carrier, with the flight distance exceeding 10,000km.
"Guests have requested us to fly to Europe for a while, and Scoot is excited to finally oblige," says Lee Lik Hsin, chief executive of Scoot's parent company Budget Aviation Holdings.
The service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, departing from Singapore at 2am and arriving in Athens at 8.30am, then departing from Athens at noon before arriving in Singapore at 4.25am the following day.
Passengers can choose from Standard or Stretch seats with a seat pitch ranging from 30 to 34 inches, while the ScootinSilence Economy child-free zone offers a quiet travel environment.
Other options include a selection of drinks, snacks and meals, wi-fi plans and in-seat power, and the ScooTV in-flight entertainment to stream a range of movies and TV series to your own device.
For greater comfort, there's ScootBiz, which features an all-leather seat with a 38-inch pitch and adjustable leg rest, plus bundled meals, drinks, in-seat power, ScooTV and 30kg check-in baggage allowance.
The Singapore-Athens route will be serviced by new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners with 329 seats including 18 in ScootBiz.
Until August 31, Scoot is offering one-way economy fares between Perth and Athens via Singapore from $369 for a basic Fly fare, from $461 for a FlyBag fare including 20kg checked luggage, from $526 for a FlyBagEat fare including 20kg checked luggage and a hot meal with beverage, and from $1099 for ScootBiz, including taxes.
